SnoBar and ColorBar TPO Membrane Roof Mounts for Snow Rails

SnoBar/ColorBar products can be installed securely on membrane/TPO type roof systems using our unique Membrane Mounts without endangering the roof, harming the membrane, or voiding warranties. A 12 gauge 304 stainless steel plate, two 304 stainless steel studs, and one extruded aluminum ColorBracket mount are used to construct membrane mounts. For mechanical fastening to new or existing roof structures, there are six predrilled screw holes. They are made to be mechanically fastened over the base membrane layer, and then a waterproof seal is created by flashing over a 12"x12" square of membrane.

Fast and Easy Installation

Due to the unique top-loading mounts that enable the SnoBar/ColorBar to be put down into the mount rather than needing to be fed through the mount, this is the fastest installing system on the market. Lower labor costs and less danger of harming the bar's finish result from quick and simple installation!

This product includes a lifetime warranty on all components for all systems that are installed as per the manufacturer's recommendations. SnoBar/ColorBar has over 25 years of field proven results. If you have a membrane style roof and need a snow retention system, call us at 800-766-5291 so we can discuss your project.

The following warranty is made in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied. Recommendations for proper use of the product are based on tests believed to be reliable. Any goods proven to be defective due to materials will be replaced, or purchase price refunded, but in no event shall the manufacturer be responsible for damages in excess of the purchase price. User shall determine the suitability of the product for its intended use and assumes all risks of its use or handling.

TPO Membrane Snow Rails Mounting Bracket Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Yes, the 1" x 1" galvanized SnoBar and the 2" aluminum ColorBar systems are both compatible with the membrane bracket. This system utilizes the same aluminum Tall ColorBracket our screw-down PBR Rail Systems use. You get the same strong bracket with the ease of top-loading installation.

You must use all six holes in the stainless steel membrane plate to ensure a firm hold on every plate.

We advise flashing over the completed, installed membrane plate, which is corrosion-resistant, to achieve a watertight seal and avoid future moisture issues.

When installing Membrane brackets for your Snow Rail System, we recommend 12" horizontal spacing between the brackets. The vertical spacing of your rows, when multiple rows are required going up the slope, will be determined based on the dimensions of the roof, the ground snow load, and the roof structure. We recommend using the same spacing guidelines as our Screw Down Rail Systems.

A hollow, square, 1" x 1" galvanized steel tube coated in Gator Shield is the centerpiece of the SnoBar system. An extruded 6061-T6 aluminum bar with color strip acceptance is a feature of the ColorBar system. You can order both systems in a powder-coated finish over the phone or purchase both systems online in a mill finish. With its exceptional strength, only the ColorBar can span panels wider than 24".

The first step is sending us a physical color sample. Using an image or video as a guide, we cannot match a color. Manufacturer differences in color are common in printers and monitors. You can mail us a tiny physical sample or swatch, and we'll use it to determine the right color match. After we locate a match and the customer approves it, the lead time for production usually takes three to four weeks.

About SnoBar-ColorBar

In 1992, Don Drew and Dick Riddell invented SnoBar, the original standing seam-mounted snow rail, earning a patent the following year. The first version, Sno Horse, was installed by Jim Huff at Denver International Airport in 1992. Inspired by office desk name plates, he ingeniously created an aluminum bar with a channel that could accept a strip of colored metal in its face. This design evolved into ColorBar, featuring rapid installation with patented drop-in clamps. Roof clamps, available in stainless steel or aluminum, secure the bar to standing seam metal roofs, making SnoBar the longest-standing snow rail system. There is a SnoBar and ColorBar snow retention system for every sloped roof prone to snow slides. Both snow rails can be powder-coated to match your metal roof.
