The SlateGuard is available in all of the Deuce colors that are currently available. Examples of the colors available now include: Hunter Green, Medium Bronze, Copper, Black, Dark Gray, Light Gray, White, and Sandstone (Tan). The Deuce is molded in these colors and UV stabilized to prevent fading and discoloration. The standard SnoBlox Deuce snow guard is clear and does not cast a shadow, making it less noticeable than the colored options.
When installing SlateGuard, use the Snow Guard Screw Down layout available on our spacing guideline page. This is the same chart that would be used when installing the Deuce with mechanical fasteners. Isolating snow guards on partial roof sections such as just over doorways or roof vents is not recommended.
Heavy 16 gauge 304 stainless steel is used to make the strap. The SlateGuard, which is made of polycarbonate with stainless steel hardware, is guaranteed to last the life of the roof.
Slateguard can be installed with any kind of shingle or slate roofing where the attachment hardware is easily accessible from underneath. The strap’s hooks attach to either nails or screws, holding the shingle/slate down, depending on your roof. Interlocking metal panels are not ideal candidates for this product.
Typically, when installed correctly, the strap of the SlateGuard is almost entirely hidden with only the Deuce remaining visible on the roof’s surface. You will, however, see the silver coloring of the strap when using the standard Clear Deuce.
