SlateGuard is the only polycarbonate snow guard for slate roofs.

The strap is constructed from heavy 16 gauge 304 stainless steel and is easily hooked into the nail or under the existing slate shingle. The stainless and polycarbonate construction is guaranteed to last a lifetime and is virtually invisible when installed. The clear SlateGuard is usually in stock, but larger quantities on hand may sometimes be limited. Larger orders and colors usually require approximately 3 -4 weeks for delivery. Any goods proven to be defective due to materials will be replaced, or purchase price refunded, but in no event shall the manufacturer be responsible for damages in excess of the purchase price. The SlateGuard's strap is constructed from heavy duty 16 gauge 304 stainless steel and the SnoBlox Deuce is produced from 100% virgin polycarbonate plastic. The stainless and polycarbonate construction is guaranteed to last a lifetime and is virtually invisible when installed.

The Slateguard snow guard for slate and shingle roofing comes full assembled from the manufacturer.

The Slateguard can be purchased in any of the colors that the SnoBlox deuce is currently available in. Because the stainless steel strap on this snow guard is hidden from view, there is little to no need to color-match this component.

No, the Slateguard is not kept in stock. This snow guard is produced on a made-to-order basis. The typical lead time for production is approximately 3-5 weeks. Lead times are subject to change based on order quantities.

The SlateGuard is made for roofs in geographic locations with ground snow loads of 45PSF or lower. Make sure to check out our spacing guidelines page for spacing recommendations based on your roof’s pitch. Any projects with a ground snow load that is higher than 45psf should have a snow rail system installed. Both the SnoBar and ColorBar systems can be fitted with custom brackets for shingle and slate roofing. To obtain a quote for this type of system, please fill our our Bar Quote Request Form. Use the Slate/Shingle Guard Spacing Layout Guideline Page from our spacing guidelines section when installing SlateGuard. It is not advisable to isolate snow guards on partial roof sections, such as those directly over doorways, HVAC units, chimneys, vent pipes, or roof vents.

If installing at the same as the roofing material, this snow guard can be screwed down into a solid substrate below instead of attaching to the shingle/slate mounting hardware. If installing SlateGuard on asphalt shingles, this method of attachment is recommended as opposed to hooking into short roofing nails.
