The Ridge Pro Roof Peak Anchor—First Man-Up Anchor

Safely transition from the ladder to the roof with Ridge Pro.

This safety device is a First Man Up (FMU) Last Man Down (LMD) roof anchoring system designed for 6/12 to 12/12 roof pitches. The Ridge Pro offers a safe solution for transitioning from the ladder to the actual roof and back to the ladder. It allows for quicker access to the peak than a standard fall protection rope and harness setup. The cross members are padded to protect your roof and can accept four 5/16 lag bolts to make it OSHA-compliant for an anchoring device. The body is made from super strong, lightweight, high-grade aluminum for easy transport, and it has a built-in stainless-steel shackle harness and rope receiver. This Ridge Pro is a much more cost-effective solution than scaffolding or roof planks. The RidgePro may be used temporarily or long-term for roof access. Its versatility allows for use across a wide variety of roofing materials and is perfect for installing snow guards on just about any steep roof.

Ridge Pro is OSHA Compliant.

When anchored with appropriate lag bolts, the Ridgepro is compliant with OSHA standard 1926 Subpart M for a single user, withstanding and exceeding 5,000 pounds of static strength force.

Ridge Pro can be used as a roof inspection tool for 15 minutes without fastening.

When not anchored, OSHA does not regulate "non-anchors," so you would be working with the Ridge Pro as an inspection tool, which grants 15 minutes of time on the roof before you must anchor.

Please Note: The older version of the RidgePro used a special pole that had a threaded tip with a hole drilled out to accept a locking pin. The newer, improved version of the Ridgepro uses the Sherlock RO57 fiberglass telescoping pole that extends from 8 feet to 16 feet. The latest version of the Ridgepro is much quicker to install and eliminates the need to screw the pole into the device. The process of installing the pole is now simplified, and there is less chance of omitting the important positive locking shackle that slides through both the RidgePro and the pole. The Sherlock RO57 poles is also available for purchase from most major paint and big-box stores. The poles sold at the paint and box stores have a threaded tip installed. To use the Ridgepro, simply remove the threaded tip by removing a rivet or unscrewing a Phillips head screw. Slide the open end of the pole onto the Ridgepro and insert and lock the included shackle. What is the RidgePro?

Thanks to the unique, patented RidgePro safety device, users can safely climb up and down roofs. It is a simple-to-assemble roof peak anchor adjustable for different roof pitches. When used, the RidgePro presses on both roof slopes at the proper angle and clears the ridge vent at the peak for stability.

What materials is the RidgePro constructed from?

Made in the USA from solid aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum, the RidgePro roof anchor system has visible engraved pitch markings for precise settings before climbing the ladder to the roof. It also has integrated rope and harness attachment capabilities for roof fall safety.

Can I use the RidgePro for a quick chimney or roof inspection?

Yes. After rolling the RidgePro up to the roof peak and flipping it over so that the wheels are facing up, you can safely ascend the roof and move up to 30 degrees laterally on the wheel side of the roof. OSHA does not regulate "non-anchors" when workers do not mechanically fasten them. You would use the RidgePro as an inspection tool, allowing you to spend 15 minutes on the roof before you need to anchor. We strongly advise that you fasten the RidgePro directly to the roof with four 5/16" x 1 ½" lag screws through the pre-drilled holes in the tool for more extensive projects. Always protect yourself from falls by wearing a safety vest with a harness and lifeline.

Will the RidgePro work for any roof?

Roof slopes between 6/12 and 12/12 are ideal for using the RidgePro. Even for brief operations, we recommend that the device be permanently mounted to the roof structure, especially when utilizing the product on roofs with pitches between 6/12 and 8/12. We advise directly mounting the RidgePro® to roofs with pitches of 8/12 or higher, although there is a decreased chance of pulling the device off the peak at these pitches. Work carefully and safely.
