SnoBlox Ace Snow Guards Product Description:

The ACE can be adhered using Surebond SB-190 or mechanically fastened. The SnoBlox Ace requires a 3" flat mounting area. The waffled base enhances the bonding power when used with the SB-190. Starter points are provided for mechanically fastening with self-drilling screws. Professional ATI test results show the SnoBlox ACE held up to 4849 pounds when screwed down and 1449 pounds when adhered using the Surebond SB-190. All tests were performed simulating realistic snow-loading conditions applied to the face of the guard.

SnoBlox Ace Snow Guards Additional Information:

It is not recommended for placement in just isolated areas such as chimneys, doorways, vents, and partial roof sections.

SnoBlox Ace Snow Guards Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

You can install screw-down snow guards year-round using either the Master Driller or Master Gripper screws with cold weather sealant such as NovaFlex MR150. You must allow approximately 28 days at 50 degrees Fahrenheit or above for the Surebond SB-190 adhesive to achieve a complete cure during installation. In both cases, it's recommended that clear polycarbonate snow guards be installed before the winter season to ensure they're in place before the first snowfall.

Depending on your skill set, installing the SnoBlox Ace can be quick and straightforward. Many of our customers are DIY homeowners. Installation instructions can be found on our website and included with your order. Before beginning an installation, please ensure you use proper fall protection, like the RidgePro, before getting on your roof. If you choose to hire a professional, any licensed general or roofing contractor should be able to install these guards for you.

A properly designed layout for any snow guard system will run the entire length of the affected roof area and typically require multiple rows up the slope. This will help evenly distribute the weight of the snow and ice on the roof. We have spacing guidelines for both adhesive and mechanical mounting of the SnoBlox Ace that will take much of the guesswork out of this process.

The SnoBlox Ace snow guard is clear and does not cast a shadow, making it less noticeable than a colored or metal guard. Both the adhesive and the sealant that we suggest for installation are translucent.

The SnoBlox Ace requires a 3" flat mounting area. This snow guard attaches with Surebond SB-190 adhesive or mechanical fasteners to 12" r-panel roofing. It can also be glued to most standing seam panels, as long as any striations feature flat mounting areas of 3" wide or greater.

About SnoBlox-Snojax

In the late 1970s, we embarked on a quest for an improved snow guard solution that would be non-corrosive and nearly invisible to preserve the building's aesthetic appeal. After extensive testing, we obtained a patent for Snojax®, the world's first screw-down, clear, non-corrosive, polycarbonate snow guard. In 1985, we innovated further with the release of Snojax II, the world's first glue-down polycarbonate snow guard. By 2000, we introduced two patented SnoBlox® models, "Ace" and "Deuce," offering an economical alternative and resolving the challenge of straddling minor ribs. These models boasted the industry's first patented waffled base design, enhancing adhesive bonding. In 2005, we expanded our offerings with Icejax I and Icejax II, which were validated through rigorous testing by the renowned ATI professional testing laboratory. Our Snojax®, SnoBlox®, Icejax™, and SnowCatcher™ brands are the epitome of robust snow guards in the industry, validated by comprehensive testing.
