Stainless Steel SnowCatcher Snow Guards Details:

The Mill SnowCatcher is a 16 gauge metal snow guard that is constructed from 304-grade stainless steel and is available in TGIC Polyester powder-coated colors for a small upcharge. The large forward-mounted 4” Wide face provides a generous holding field, and the 1.5” wide base fits most 36” panels with 9” flats. A 1/16" thick adhesive-backed V742 CCF PVC foam sealer base pad is included. The SnowCatcher requires 2 screws per guard, the third hole can be used for an extra screw, but it is intended as a holding point for powder coating.

Stainless Steel SnowCatcher Snow Guards Testing:

Professional third-party Intertek/ATI tests demonstrate the SnowCatcher held 3923 pounds when attached with #14 screws. The durable construction does not get brittle like cheap guards made from metal castings.

Stainless Steel SnowCatcher Snow Guards Application:

The Snow Catcher is for screw-down applications only, and adhesive mounting of this guard is not recommended. Snow Guards used in just isolated roof areas such as chimneys, doorways, vents and partial roof sections is not recommended. Three screws per guard can be used, but only two screws are required. Screws are sold separately.

Please refer to the spacing guideline page for proper snow guard placement.

I have purchased the snowcatcher a few times for different roofing projects. The first ones have been on the roof for 13 years as of 2023. Very durable product.

These are very nice snow catchers. You can't do any better.

I bought these snowcatchers for my second choice since the company said that I need heavier gauge roofing panels to accommodate their snow rails. I didn't have time for that since the first snowfall was coming right up and as far as I could tell my light gauge garage roofing panels should be safe and sound in the particular case anyway. I quickly put in sixteen of these very nice catchers just in time and so far they are working like a gem. If they keep the snow on the roof all winter then I'm going to count them as a very big bargain.

We would have given these a five star rating if it were not for the self tapping screws.

We found the self tapping screws should have a sharper tip. While working on a steep metal roof we had a hard time getting them to penetrate the metal roofing.

About SnoBlox-Snojax

In the late 1970s, we sought a better snow guard that would be non-corrosive and almost invisible but not detract from the building's appearance. After years of testing for our new idea, we were awarded a patent on the world's first screw-down clear, non-corrosive, polycarbonate snow guard called Snojax®. In 2000, we introduced two uniquely designed patented SnoBlox® models, the "Ace" and the "Deuce." We created these models to offer the industry an economical solution to eliminate the confusion associated with straddling minor ribs. The SnoBlox® models also feature the industry's first patented waffled base design that enhances the bonding power of the adhesive. In 2005, we introduced two different-size models, the Icejax I and the Icejax II. We hired the internationally renowned ATI professional testing laboratory to test our snow guard models. These tests proved that the Snojax®, SnoBlox®, Icejax™, and SnowCatcher™ brands are the industry's most robust snow guards!
