Maple Leaf SnowCatcher Snow Guard Product Description:

The 16 gauge Mill Maple Leaf SnowCatcher is a decorative metal snow guard that is made from 304-grade stainless steel. The large forward-mounted wide face provides a generous holding field, and the 1.5” wide base fits most 36” panels with 9" or 12" rib spacing. Professional test results demonstrated that the Maple Leaf SnowCatcher held up to 4366 pounds of force pushing against the face of the guard before the method of attachment failed. The original shape of the SnowCatcher was retained throughout the entire test. The durable construction does not get brittle like cheap fabricated cast guards. Included in the box is a 1/16" thick adhesive-backed V742 CCF PVC foam sealer for each SnowCatcher purchased.

Maple Leaf SnowCatcher Snow Guard Popularity:

This product is especially popular on metal roofs that desire the aesthetic look of the beautiful Canadian Maple Leaf. The Maple Leaf was a symbol for Canada as early as 1700 and is now revered and commonly used as the emblem of Canada. If ordering 100 pieces or more, this product can be powder-coated red or any color to match or compliment your roof; please call for pricing.

Maple Leaf SnowCatcher Snow Guard Application:

Screw down applications only. SnoBlox-SnoJax does not recommend adhesive mounting this guard. Placement in just isolated areas such as chimneys, doorways, vents and partial roof sections is NOT recommended. Screws are sold separately. Slight variations in mill finish are not cause for rejection.

Please refer to the spacing guideline page for proper snow guard placement.

SnowCatcher Stainless Steel Snow Guards

Maple Leaf SnowCatcher Snow Guard Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

You should use the adhesive only on polycarbonate snow guards. The glue works its way into the plastic material for the strongest hold. SnowCatchers are stainless steel, so we never advise using glue for installation. We also never recommend installing these guards on standing seam metal panels because you never want to penetrate this kind of panel.

You should use our decorative metal snow guards only in areas with a 45 psf or less ground snow load. If you are uncertain about your snow load, please call the nearby zoning or construction permit office. Generally speaking, talking with an engineer or architect before placing an order is advisable. Please see our recommended spacing guideline page for SnowCatchers. If you have a higher ground snow load than 45 pounds per square foot, please fill out our SnoBar Price Quote Form.

We manufacture the Maple Leaf SnowCatcher from 16 gauge 304-grade stainless steel. It's made right here in the United States with American steel. Unlike some competitors, who commonly import their manufacturers and raw materials from foreign countries to save money, we proudly offer "Made in U.S.A." products.

NO! Never use snow guards or snow rail systems as steps or tie-off points for fall protection. The RidgePro is a fast and dependable fall protection alternative that we recommend.

The standard stainless steel rectangular SnowCatcher tested to 3923 lbs., making it a robust snow guard. However, laboratory testing revealed that the decorative Maple Leaf SnowCatcher was stronger, rated at 4366 lbs. Don't be fooled by its visual charm—this snow guard is a reliable, powerful snow retention option.

Yes, we offer powder coating for the SnowCatchers for a fee. Just send us a physical sample of your roof color, and we can match almost any color. The standard lead time for powder-coated guards is approximately 3-4 weeks. If you need a more speedy solution, we recommend having the guards powder coated locally or spray painting them upon arrival.

About SnoBlox-Snojax

In the late 1970s, we embarked on a quest for an improved snow guard solution that would be non-corrosive and nearly invisible to preserve the building's aesthetic appeal. After extensive testing, we obtained a patent for Snojax®, the world's first screw-down, clear, non-corrosive, polycarbonate snow guard. In 1985, we innovated further with the release of Snojax II, the world's first glue-down polycarbonate snow guard. By 2000, we introduced two patented SnoBlox® models, "Ace" and "Deuce," offering an economical alternative and resolving the challenge of straddling minor ribs. These models boasted the industry's first patented waffled base design, enhancing adhesive bonding. In 2005, we expanded our offerings with Icejax I and Icejax II, which were validated through rigorous testing by the renowned ATI professional testing laboratory. Our Snojax®, SnoBlox®, Icejax™, and SnowCatcher™ brands are the epitome of robust snow guards in the industry, validated by comprehensive testing.
