Fleur-de-lis SnowCatcher Snow Guard Product Description:

The 16 gauge Mill Fleur-De-Lis SnowCatcher is a decorative metal snow guard that is made from 304-grade stainless steel. The large forward-mounted wide face provides a generous holding field, and the 1.5” wide base fits most 36” panels with 9” or 12" rib spacing. Professional test results demonstrated that the Fleur-De-Lis SnowCatcher held up to 4128 pounds of force pushing against the face of the guard before the method of attachment failed. The original shape of the SnowCatcher was retained throughout the entire test. The durable construction does not get brittle like cheap fabricated cast guards. Included in the box is a 1/16" thick adhesive-backed V742 CCF PVC foam sealer for each SnowCatcher purchased.

Fleur-de-lis SnowCatcher Snow Guard Application:

Screw down applications only. SnoBlox-SnoJax does not recommend adhesive mounting this guard. Placement in just isolated areas such as chimneys, doorways, vents and partial roof sections is NOT recommended. Screws are sold separately. Slight variations in mill finish are not cause for rejection.

What is a Fleur de lis?

Can I use glue to attach decorative SnowCatchers?

Only snow guards made of polycarbonate can install with adhesive. The glue etches itself into the plastic material for the best possible hold. Since all SnowCatchers are stainless steel metal, we never recommend using adhesive for installation. Because the fastening method for these guards penetrates the panel, we never recommend installing them onto standing seam metal panels.

What is the maximum ground snow load that SnowCatchers work with?

Our decorative metal snow guards are advised only in regions with a ground snow load of 45 psf or less. If you are unsure of your snow load, please contact the local zoning or building permit office. Generally, consulting with an architect or engineer before placing an order is advised. Please see our recommended spacing guideline page for SnowCatchers. I'm only concerned with protecting an area above my garage door. What do I do?

No matter which system you buy, you should never isolate installations. Before placing your order, review the spacing guideline page for your chosen snow guard. A snow retention system aims to distribute snow and ice equally across the entire roof. Isolated installations carry a high risk of failure, which could cause damage to the snow guards as well as the roof's panels and structure. Failure could cause injury to people or damage to property after release.

How do the decorative SnowCatchers compare to the standard rectangular SnowCatcher?

While our standard stainless steel SnowCatcher is an incredibly strong snow guard that tested at 3923 lbs, laboratory testing showed that the decorative Fleur de lis was even more robust with a rating of 4128 lbs. Don't let its aesthetic appeal fool you. This snow guard is a strong and trusted snow retention solution.
