Sun Burst SnowCatcher Snow Guard Product Description:

The 16 gauge Mill Sun Burst SnowCatcher is a decorative metal snow guard that is made from 304-grade stainless steel. The large forward-mounted wide face provides a generous holding field, and the 1.5” wide base fits most 36” panels with 9” or 12" rib spacing. Professional test results demonstrated that the Sun Burst SnowCatcher held up to 3945 pounds of force pushing against the face of the guard before the method of attachment failed. The original shape of the SnowCatcher was retained throughout the entire test. The durable construction does not get brittle like cheap fabricated cast guards. Included in the box is a 1/16" thick adhesive-backed V742 CCF PVC foam sealer for each SnowCatcher purchased.

Sun Burst SnowCatcher Snow Guard Application:

Screw down applications only. SnoBlox-SnoJax does not recommend adhesive mounting this guard. Placement in just isolated areas such as chimneys, doorways, vents and partial roof sections is NOT recommended. Screws are sold separately. Slight variations in mill finish are not cause for rejection.

It boasts a rating of 3945 lbs, surpassing even our standard stainless steel SnowCatcher, which tested at 3923 lbs. So, don't let its elegant appearance fool you. Do I have to use all three SnowCatcher mounting holes?

The SnowCatcher snow guard, designed with your convenience in mind, features three pre-drilled holes in the base. The two holes near the guard's face are a must for installation. During the optional powder coating process, the guard hangs from the third hole at the opposite end of the base. This third hole serves as an additional mounting point for added strength and is a testament to the SnowCatcher's versatility.

What is the maximum ground snow load that SnowCatchers can handle?

Only use our decorative metal snow guards in areas with a ground snow load of 45 psf or less. Contact your local zoning or building permit office to clarify your snow load. Can the SnowCatcher's color be customized?

Powder-coating allows the stainless steel Sun Burst SnowCatcher to be color-matched. When requesting a quote for a custom color match, we require a physical sample. We will generate a quote once we find an appropriate match. Powder coating orders typically require a 3–4 week manufacturing lead time. We don't keep colored SnowCatchers on hand. Customers can order the SnowCatchers in mill finish and have them powder-coated locally for a faster turnaround. They can also paint them when they arrive.
