Can I use the Deuce right above my doors?

We never recommend installing any system—no matter what you select—above just entryways, HVAC units, chimneys, or vent pipes. A system needs to extend the entire length of the roof. It frequently involves multiple rows going up the slope to distribute weight adequately. You must use SnowBreaker's isolated placement guidelines when installing isolated layouts in regions with less snowfall.

Is the Deuce prone to becoming brittle with age?

Unlike many competitors, we manufacture our snow guards from 100% virgin polycarbonate made in the United States. Polycarbonate plastic is rigid, durable, and thirty times stronger than acrylic. The UV stabilization of our polycarbonate helps prevent the guards from becoming brittle.

Is it necessary to pre-drill the Deuce if I intend to attach it with screws?

The Deuce has two molded starter points located near the guard's face. When using self-tapping screws, such as our Master Drillers or Grippers, pre-drilling is not required, but it may be helpful.

Can I install these, or do I need to hire a professional?

Installing polycarbonate snowguards can be quick and straightforward, depending on your experience level. Do-it-yourselfers primarily make up our customer base. Installation instructions are included with your order and are available on our website. Working safely on a metal roof with a sloped surface is the most hazardous aspect of installing snow guards. Before installing and climbing onto your roof, please use appropriate fall protection, such as the RidgePro. If you choose to hire a professional, any certified general or roofing contractor should be able to install these guards for you.

Can I combine polycarbonate guards with other snow retention systems?

No. We never recommend mixing and matching snow retention systems. They often have different strength ratings, complicating a system's layout.
