Snojax I Snow Guards Key Features

  • Made in America

  • A flat, forward-facing design is proven to cause less roof stress, failures, and leaks than other competing options.

  • Easy installation

  • The original polycarbonate snow guard

Invented in 1976, the SnoJax I is the original polycarbonate snow guard and the very first product in our product line of Snow Guards.

This tried-and-true snow guard has had the same design since its conception. This product is designed for screwing-down use only and features a series of drainage holes that allow melting snow to pass through easily, ultimately expediting the snow-melting process. Please note that placement only in isolated areas such as chimneys, doorways, vents, and partial roof sections is not recommended.

Because of the unique rib straddling design, they fit most brands of the traditional 9" or 12" R-Panels. The distinctive 8 holes in the face plate provide exceptional water drainage. This is a screw-down snow guard only.

I could not find this product anywhere locally. I had one of the snow guards & saw the name & looked it up on the internet & saw that they were made in Lemoyne, Pa. I was able to order on line & received them in one day. Very satisfied!!

Snojax I Original PolyCarbonate Plastic Snow Guards

Snojax I Snow Guards Frequently Asked Questions

The Snojax I is a polycarbonate snow guard that requires two fasteners for screw-down installation. You will find pre-drilled holes near its face. You can use either our 2" Master Gripper Screws for attaching to wood purlins or our 1.5" Master Driller Screws for attaching to metal purlins. Both of these screws are #14 case-hardened carbon steel with neoprene washers. We recommend pairing these fasteners with our NovaFlex MR150 sealant.

We make our clear snow guards from 100% virgin polycarbonate produced in the USA, unlike many of our rivals, who often source their plastics from overseas. While thirty times stronger than acrylic, polycarbonate plastic is durable and practically invisible. Our polycarbonate's UV stabilization aids in preventing the guards from becoming brittle.

A correctly installed snow guard system prevents roof leaks from occurring. Make sure that you use screws with neoprene washers and pair them with either foam gaskets for metal snow guards or liquid silicone for polycarbonate snow guards. Many homeowners decide against adding any new roof penetrations for snow guards. Instead, they will install a polycarbonate glue-down snow retention system using the Surebond SB-190 adhesive.

The Novaflex MR150 sealant can coat about 10 of our larger polycarbonate snow guards and 20–25 smaller ones, including Snojax I. Please be aware that this might change depending on the user's application. Novaflex MR150 is a sealant and not an adhesive. You should NEVER use it to glue down polycarbonate snow guards instead of Surebond SB-190.

Snojax I polycarbonate snow guards can be installed year-round in most climates. The Novaflex MR150 sealant we have available for use with these guards extrudes to -20°F and up to 120°F. Novaflex It can be used as a perfect snow guard sealant in wet conditions and even under water.

About SnoBlox-Snojax

In the late 1970s, we embarked on a quest for an improved snow guard solution that would be non-corrosive and nearly invisible to preserve the building's aesthetic appeal. After extensive testing, we obtained a patent for Snojax®, the world's first screw-down, clear, non-corrosive, polycarbonate snow guard. In 1985, we innovated further with the release of Snojax II, the world's first glue-down polycarbonate snow guard. By 2000, we introduced two patented SnoBlox® models, "Ace" and "Deuce," offering an economical alternative and resolving the challenge of straddling minor ribs. These models boasted the industry's first patented waffled base design, enhancing adhesive bonding. In 2005, we expanded our offerings with Icejax I and Icejax II, which were validated through rigorous testing by the renowned ATI professional testing laboratory. Our Snojax®, SnoBlox®, Icejax™, and SnowCatcher™ brands are the epitome of robust snow guards in the industry, validated by comprehensive testing.
