Effectively breaks apart sliding snow and ice for safer roof conditions!
The SnowBreakers are snow guards designed to break apart snow and ice on metal roofs.
Instead of allowing snow and ice to accumulate on the roof, this product helps break it into smaller pieces, enabling it to shed more easily and minimizing potential hazards. This approach offers the best of both worlds: it allows snow and ice to slide off the roof faster than traditional snow retention systems while providing safety protection.
SnowBreaker Snow Guards feature a reversible base.
The SnowBreaker can be mounted in the opposite direction, with the pointed side directed downhill, as illustrated below. In this orientation, the device is a snow retention system that collects and retains snow and ice on the roof. When positioned with the pointed face facing upwards, the SnowBreaker will effectively break apart any snow and ice accumulating around the snow guards.
Ensure your safety and protect your roof with SnowBreaker Snow Guards—designed for your peace of mind.
The SnowBreaker is highly effective at reducing the damage caused by the sudden release of snow and ice, alleviating concerns about overloading your roof. No other snow guard can make this claim! As snow and ice slide off the roof, this cost-effective product minimizes the risk by breaking the frozen precipitation into smaller pieces, allowing it to fall away safely.
SnowBreaker Snow Guards: A Feasible Solution for Isolated Areas and Doorways
In theory, a snow guard cannot hold snow and ice in an isolated area on a roof, as the weight of the accumulated frozen mass will extend to the unprotected areas. Isolating areas of snow guards can significantly overload the snow retention system, leading to premature release and eventual failure. The SnowBreaker is one of the few snow guards that installers may position at a 45-degree outward angle over the desired isolated area for protection. This approach results in significant cost savings compared to traditional snow guard systems, which require snow retention throughout the entire roof to protect specific areas. Please see the Isolated Placement Guide for guidelines on isolated areas.
Adhesive Curing Time and Temperature Requirements
The Surebond SB-190 snow guard adhesive requires 28 days to cure. It delays the cure time if the temperature falls below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperatures drop below this threshold, it does not damage the curing process but extends the time needed for curing.
