Stainless Steel SnowCatcher Snow Guards Details:

The Mill SnowCatcher is a 16 gauge metal snow guard that is constructed from 304-grade stainless steel and is available in TGIC Polyester powder-coated colors for a small upcharge. The large forward-mounted 4” Wide face provides a generous holding field, and the 1.5” wide base fits most 36” panels with 9” flats. A 1/16" thick adhesive-backed V742 CCF PVC foam sealer base pad is included. The SnowCatcher requires 2 screws per guard, the third hole can be used for an extra screw, but it is intended as a holding point for powder coating.

Stainless Steel SnowCatcher Snow Guards Testing:

Professional third-party Intertek/ATI tests demonstrate the SnowCatcher held 3923 pounds when attached with #14 screws. The durable construction does not get brittle like cheap guards made from metal castings.

Stainless Steel SnowCatcher Snow Guards Application:

The Snow Catcher is for screw-down applications only, and adhesive mounting of this guard is not recommended. Snow Guards used in just isolated roof areas such as chimneys, doorways, vents and partial roof sections is not recommended. Three screws per guard can be used, but only two screws are required. Screws are sold separately.

Please refer to the spacing guideline page for proper snow guard placement.

SnowCatcher Stainless Steel Snow Guards

Stainless Steel SnowCatcher Snow Guards Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The company constructs the SnowCatcher from 16-gauge 304-grade stainless steel. It is manufactured right here in the United States of America with American steel. We take pride in offering "Made in U.S.A." products, unlike the competition, which often sources its materials and manufacturers from overseas to cut costs. The SnowCatcher is a single-piece snow guard.

The base of the SnowCatcher snow guard includes three pre-drilled holes. Installation calls for the use of the two holes close to the guard's face. The guard is primarily hung in the third hole at the opposite end of the base during the optional powder coating process. This third hole can also be used as an additional mounting point for increased strength.

Correct installation of a snow guard system prevents roof leaks. Be sure to use screws with neoprene washers in conjunction with the included foam gaskets for our metal snow guards. Many customers choose not to add any additional roof penetrations for snow protection. Many customers choose to seal around the guard's perimeter with NovaFlex MR150 silicone sealant as an extra precaution against moisture creeping under the SnowCatcher.

NO! NEVER use snow rail systems or snow guards as stepping points or tie-off points for fall protection. If you need a quick and reliable fall protection alternative, we advise using the RidgePro.

NO! We never recommend isolated installations, regardless of the snow retention method used. Using our spacing guideline pages is recommended before buying snow guards. One of the most important factors to consider when designing a system for your project is the weight distribution of roof snow and ice across the entire structure. A significant risk of failure exists with isolated installations, which could damage the roof's panels, structure, and the guards themselves.

Yes. Powder coating can match the color of the stainless steel SnowCatcher. When requesting a custom quote for a bespoke color match, you must supply a physical sample. Once we find a match, we can create the quote. Orders for powder coating typically have a 3-4 week production lead time. We do not stock colored SnowCatchers. Customers can order the SnowCatchers in mill finish and either paint them or have them powder-coated locally if they'd like a quicker option.

About SnoBlox-Snojax

In the late 1970s, we embarked on a quest for an improved snow guard solution that would be non-corrosive and nearly invisible to preserve the building's aesthetic appeal. After extensive testing, we obtained a patent for Snojax®, the world's first screw-down, clear, non-corrosive, polycarbonate snow guard. In 1985, we innovated further with the release of Snojax II, the world's first glue-down polycarbonate snow guard. By 2000, we introduced two patented SnoBlox® models, "Ace" and "Deuce," offering an economical alternative and resolving the challenge of straddling minor ribs. These models boasted the industry's first patented waffled base design, enhancing adhesive bonding. In 2005, we expanded our offerings with Icejax I and Icejax II, which were validated through rigorous testing by the renowned ATI professional testing laboratory. Our Snojax®, SnoBlox®, Icejax™, and SnowCatcher™ brands are the epitome of robust snow guards in the industry, validated by comprehensive testing.
