Snow Guards for Fabral Metal Roofing
Snow guards for Fabral roofing panels help manage sudden rooftop snow and ice movement above entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, equipment, landscaping, loading zones, and other areas where sliding accumulation can create hazards or cause property damage. The right SnoBlox-Snojax solution depends first on whether the Fabral roof uses a standing-seam concealed-fastener panel or an exposed-fastener profile, and then on the exact panel installed.
- Fabral standing seam and exposed fastener roofs require different attachment methods.
- Compatible standing seam profiles should use clamp-on systems or adhesive-mounted guards rather than screw-down attachments through the panel.
- Exposed fastener profiles may accept adhesive-mounted, screw-down, PBR, or corrugated-panel systems when the panel shape and structural attachment allow them.
- Fabral offers many panel profiles, so compatibility must be confirmed by the exact panel name rather than the manufacturer alone.
- Final selection should consider roof slope, panel width, roof material, snow load, run length, striations, and a complete roof layout.
⚡ Fabral Primary Quick Selection Guide
Use this overview for fast profile-level direction, then verify the exact fit in the full charts below.
- Most Fabral standing seam profiles: Support adhesive-mounted polycarbonate snow guards, while many also accept compatible clamp-on rail and SnoCleat systems.
- Snap-On Batten: Uses adhesive-mounted polycarbonate guards only because the wide batten prevents compatible clamp attachment.
- Horizon S, Horizon S100, Horizon 16, and Ultra Loc: Use adhesive-mounted guards; clamp-on systems are not recommended for these thinner 26-gauge profiles.
- Standing seam warning: Never drive screw-down snow guards through concealed-fastener standing seam panels.
About Fabral Metal Roofing Systems
Fabral has manufactured metal roofing and wall systems since 1967 for residential, agricultural, architectural, commercial, industrial, and transportation applications. Its broad roofing catalog includes mechanically seamed, snap-lock, batten, trapezoidal, exposed-fastener, and corrugated profiles. Because those panel shapes differ significantly, installers must match each snow retention product to the precise Fabral profile on the roof.
Snow Retention Solutions for Fabral Roofing
Fabral concealed-fastener and exposed-fastener panels do not share one universal snow guard attachment method. Standing seam roofs generally require compatible non-penetrating clamps or adhesive-mounted guards on suitable flat surfaces. Exposed-fastener roofs may accept mechanically fastened products through the low flats and into adequate structure. At the same time, select corrugated systems mount on raised ribs with panel-specific brackets.
Browse our complete selection of snow guards for metal roofs and use the Fabral charts below to verify product compatibility. “YES” means the product is shown as compatible with that panel. “NO” means the product is not listed as a fit for that profile.
Snow Guards for Fabral Standing Seam Roof Panels
This guide covers Twin-Fold, Stand' N Seam, PowerSeam, PowerSeam II, Thin Seam, Slim Seam, Snap-On Batten, IP Snap 3, Horizon S, Horizon S100, Horizon 16, 1 1/2" SSR, 1 1/2" SSR 150, and Ultra Loc. These panels vary in seam design, rib height, metal gauge, curvature capability, and available flat-mounting area.
Standing seam warning: Do not install screw-down snow guards through concealed-fastener Fabral panels. Use compatible clamp-on products when the seam accepts them or adhesive-mounted polycarbonate guards when a flat bonding area is available.

All listed Fabral standing seam profiles accept the pad-style polycarbonate products shown in the chart when the roof provides a flat, suitable bonding surface. Curved roofs require rail-style systems because pad-style guards need full contact with a flat panel surface.
Snap-On Batten does not accept the listed clamp-on systems. Horizon S, Horizon S100, Horizon 16, and Ultra Loc also show no clamp-on compatibility. Striated areas may require additional adhesive to fill minor gaps and reduce moisture paths beneath the guard.
Snow Guards for Fabral Exposed Fastener Roof Panels
Fabral exposed-fastener panels range from PBR and R-Panel profiles to closely spaced rib panels and corrugated designs. Their flat widths, rib spacing, panel strength, and fastening geometry determine whether they accept polycarbonate guards, mechanically fastened metal guards, PBR rails, or 2.67-style corrugated systems.
Exposed fastener reminder: Install compatible screw-down guards and rails through the approved panel location and into adequate structure. Most ribbed panels require fastening through the low flats, whereas compatible corrugated systems use dedicated brackets on the raised ribs. Do not rely on the roof sheet alone for structural support.

The 4 Inch Rib, 1 1/4 Inch Corrugated, and PrimeRib profiles do not show compatibility with the products in this chart. Fabrib fits the 2.67 corrugated systems, while the 1/2 Inch Corrugated, 7/8 Inch Corrugated, and 2 1/2 Inch Corrugated profiles use the same panel-specific system where shown.
For screw-down installations, fasteners must engage suitable structure beneath the panel. For adhesive-mounted polycarbonate guards, follow SureBond SB-190 surface preparation, temperature, and curing requirements.
Fabral Snow Guard Buying Checklist
- Confirm the exact Fabral panel name before selecting a product.
- Identify the roof type: standing seam, concealed fastener, exposed fastener, PBR-style, or corrugated.
- Verify the attachment method: adhesive, screw-down, clamp-on, PBR bracket, or 2.67 corrugated bracket.
- Check the ground snow load. Individual guards generally suit lighter snow-load applications, while heavier loads often require engineered rail systems.
- Request a complete layout instead of protecting only isolated areas above doors, walkways, chimneys, or equipment.
- Order a sample or a single unit to verify panel fit before purchasing a complete system.

Compatibility Guidance Note
SnoBlox-Snojax bases the compatibility information presented in this guide on product testing and field experience with Fabral metal roof panel profiles. Panel manufacturers periodically update profile specifications, and individual project variables, such as seam condition, coating type, and installation method, can affect outcomes. Customers are encouraged to confirm current panel specifications directly with Fabral and to contact SnoBlox-Snojax with project-specific questions before ordering.
