FSS-1.5, FSS-18, and FSS-316 profiles offer broad standing seam compatibility because they accept many adhesive-mounted guards and compatible clamp-on snow retention systems.
Striated or ribbed panel surfaces may require a heavier adhesive application to fill small gaps and reduce moisture paths beneath the guard. If using a rail system, IceStopper attachments are recommended above pedestrian or parking areas to help manage snow and ice beneath the rail.
Snow Guards for Flexospan Exposed Fastener Roof Panels
Flexospan exposed-fastener compatibility in this guide includes the Flexbeam, Flexrib, Corrugated 1/2-inch, Corrugated 3/4-inch, Corrugated 7/8-inch, and R-Panel profiles. These panels vary significantly in rib spacing, corrugation depth, mounting area, and attachment requirements, so compatibility changes by profile.
Exposed fastener reminder: When screw-down snow guards or rails are compatible, they should be attached through the appropriate mounting area and into adequate structure. Standard exposed-fastener profiles should not have individual snow guards or rail systems installed directly on the high ribs unless the profile-specific system works for that corrugated geometry.

Flexbeam works with selected adhesive-mounted polycarbonate guards, SnowBreaker, SnoBar PBR, and ColorBar PBR. Flexrib and R-Panel profiles offer broader compatibility with exposed fasteners for many polycarbonate guards, including SnowCatcher, SnoCleat PBR, SnoBar PBR, and ColorBar PBR.
Corrugated 1/2-inch, 3/4-inch, and 7/8-inch profiles use 2.67 corrugated systems. SnoCleat 2.67, SnoBar 2.67, and ColorBar 2.67 do not have compatibility with Flexbeam, Flexrib, or R-Panel profiles.
For screw-down installations, fasteners must engage a suitable structure beneath the roof panel. For adhesive-mounted polycarbonate guards, plan installation around SureBond SB-190 cure requirements and avoid copper roofing applications.
Flexospan Snow Guard Buying Checklist
- Confirm the exact Flexospan panel name before choosing any product.
- Identify the roof type: standing seam, concealed fastener, exposed fastener, PBR-style, or corrugated.
- Verify the attachment method: adhesive, screw-down, clamp-on, PBR bracket, or 2.67 corrugated bracket.
- Check ground snow load. Individual glue-down or screw-down guards are generally best suited for lighter snow-load applications. At the same time, higher loads often require rail systems.
- Request a layout rather than installing only in isolated areas such as doors, chimneys, or HVAC equipment.
