Snow Guards for Pac-Clad Peterson
Snow guards for Petersen Aluminum Corp. PAC-CLAD roofing panels help control rooftop snow and ice release above entrances, walkways, driveways, mechanical equipment, vehicles, landscaping, and other areas where sliding snow can create damage or safety concerns. The correct SnoBlox-Snojax product depends on whether the roof uses a standing-seam concealed-fastener system or an exposed-fastener panel, and then on the exact PAC-CLAD panel profile installed.
- Petersen Aluminum Corp. PAC-CLAD standing-seam and exposed-fastener panels require different snow-retention attachment methods.
- Standing seam panels should use compatible clamp-on systems or adhesive-mounted guards, not screw-down attachments.
- Exposed-fastener panels may accept glue-down, screw-down, SnowCatcher, PBR rail, or 2.67 corrugated systems, depending on rib shape and flat mounting area.
- Batten-style standing seam panels require extra caution because the batten cap can prevent reliable clamp-on attachment.
- Final product selection should account for roof slope, panel width, snow load, run length, roof material, panel striations, and full-roof layout requirements.

- Snap-Clad, Tite-Loc, Tite-Loc Plus, Redi-Roof, and PAC-150 panels: Broad compatibility with adhesive-mounted polycarbonate guards, SnoBar/ColorBar standing seam rails, RCB-3 systems, 2-bar rails, and SnoCleat RC/RCT.
- Snap-On, High Snap-On, and Snap-On Batten panels: Best treated as adhesive-mounted polycarbonate guard applications because batten-style seam caps prevent reliable clamp-on attachment.
- PAC T-250: Compatible with adhesive-mounted guards and select T-seam style clamp-on rail or cleat systems, including RCB-3, 2-bar, and SnoCleat RCT options.
- Edge-Loc 1.0: Compatible with adhesive-mounted guards, including EcoJax and SnoBlox Deuce, but incompatible with clamp-on rail or cleat systems because of its trapezoidal seam shape.
- 7.2 exposed-fastener panels: Compatible with EcoJax, SnoBlox Deuce, SnowBreaker, SnoBar PBR, and ColorBar PBR when installed according to project requirements.
- 1/2" and 7/8" corrugated panels: Use SnoCleat 2.67, SnoBar 2.67, or ColorBar 2.67. Standard flat-mounted pad guards and PBR systems do not work.
- R-36 panels: Support the widest exposed-fastener product range, including selected glue-down/screw-down polycarbonate guards, SnowCatcher options, SnoCleat PBR, and PBR-style rail systems.
About Petersen Aluminum Corp. PAC-CLAD Roofing Systems
Petersen Aluminum Corp., commonly known as PAC-CLAD, was founded in 1965 by Maurice R. Petersen and has grown into a major manufacturer of architectural metal roofing and wall panels. Its product line includes standing seam roof panels, exposed-fastener panels, concealed-fastener wall and roof panels, flush panels, soffit panels, perforated metal, coping, composite panels, fascia systems, coil, and flat sheet products. Carlisle Companies Inc. acquired Petersen Aluminum Corp. in 2018 as part of its building envelope product portfolio. Because PAC-CLAD panels vary by seam height, batten design, rib spacing, fastening method, panel width, material, and surface configuration, snow guard compatibility must be matched to the exact panel profile. This guide combines PAC-CLAD standing seam and exposed-fastener compatibility information into a hub-style reference for choosing SnoBlox-Snojax snow guards and snow retention systems.
Snow Retention Solutions for Petersen Aluminum Corp. PAC-CLAD Roofing
PAC-CLAD manufactures both concealed-fastener standing seam roof panels and exposed-fastener metal roof panels. Those roof styles do not manage snow retention the same way. Standing seam roofs typically require non-penetrating clamp-on systems when the seam shape allows it, or adhesive-mounted guards when the panel has a suitable flat bonding surface. Exposed-fastener panels may accept screw-down products when fastened through the low flats and into adequate structure.
See our full range of snow guards for metal roofs and use the charts below to confirm which SnoBlox-Snojax products fit each PAC-CLAD panel. “YES” indicates the product is shown as a fit for that panel. “NO” means it is not shown as compatible for that profile.
Snow Guards for Petersen Aluminum Corp. PAC-CLAD Standing Seam Roof Panels
PAC-CLAD standing seam profiles include Snap-Clad, Tite-Loc, Tite-Loc Plus, Snap-On, High Snap-On, Snap-On Batten, Redi-Roof, PAC-150 90-degree single lock, PAC-150 180-degree double lock, PAC T-250, and Edge-Loc 1.0. The key differences are seam shape, batten cap design, panel width, whether the panel is mechanically seamed, whether the roof is curved, and whether the pan provides a flat surface for adhesive-mounted guards.
Standing seam warning: Do not install screw-down snow guards through concealed-fastener standing-seam roof panels. Use compatible clamp-on products where the seam accepts them, or adhesive-mounted guards where a flat bonding surface is available.

Snap-Clad, Tite-Loc, Tite-Loc Plus, Redi-Roof, and PAC-150 profiles offer the broadest standing seam compatibility, as they accept many adhesive-mounted guards and compatible clamp-on snow retention systems.
Snap-On, High Snap-On, and Snap-On Batten panels use batten-style cap geometry, so clamp-on rail and cleat products do not work with them. Edge-Loc 1.0 supports adhesive-mounted guards but does not work with clamp-on systems because of its trapezoidal seam shape.
Striated panels may require a heavier adhesive application to fill small gaps and reduce moisture paths beneath the guard. If using a rail system, IceStopper attachments are recommended above pedestrian or parking areas to help manage snow and ice beneath the rail.
Snow Guards for Petersen Aluminum Corp. PAC-CLAD Exposed Fastener Roof Panels
PAC-CLAD exposed fastener profiles include 7.2, 1/2-inch and 7/8-inch Corrugated, and R-36. These panels do not all provide the same rib spacing, high-rib shape, or low-flat mounting area, so compatibility changes significantly by profile.
Exposed fastener reminder: When screw-down snow guards or rails are compatible, they should be attached through the low flats of the panel and into adequate structure. The exception to this general rule is the 2.67 corrugated system for 1/2-inch and 7/8-inch corrugated panels.

R-36 offers the broadest compatibility with exposed-fastener systems, as it accepts many screw-down and glue-down guards, SnowCatcher products, SnoCleat PBR, and PBR-style rail systems.
7.2 panels have fewer individual snow guard options, but EcoJax, SnoBlox Deuce, SnowBreaker, SnoBar PBR, and ColorBar PBR remain compatible choices. The 1/2-inch and 7/8-inch Corrugated panels require 2.67 corrugated systems, rather than standard flat-mounted pad guards or PBR systems.
For screw-down products, fasten through appropriate low-flat areas and into adequate structure unless the system requires corrugated high-rib attachment. For adhesive-mounted polycarbonate guards, use the recommended adhesive and allow proper cure time before snow loading.
Installation and Layout Notes for PAC-CLAD Snow Retention
- Standing seam panels: Avoid screw-down attachment through concealed-fastener seams. Use clamp-on systems only where the seam geometry is compatible, or use adhesive-mounted guards on suitable flat surfaces.
- Exposed fastener panels: You must fasten screw-down guards and rails to adequate structure, not just to the sheet metal.
- Corrugated profiles: Use 2.67 corrugated brackets on compatible corrugated panels, as standard pad-style products require flatter mounting surfaces.
- Adhesive-mounted guards: EcoJax, SnoBlox Deuce, and other polycarbonate guards require proper adhesive application, clean surfaces, and adequate cure time.
- Rail systems: Consider IceStopper attachments when using SnoBar or ColorBar above pedestrian areas, parking areas, doorways, or other sensitive locations.
- Test fitting: Order sample guards, clamps, brackets, or rail components before a full project when the panel profile or installation conditions are uncertain.
