Snow Guards & Snow Retention for Kingspan

Compatible Snow Guards for Kingspan Metal Roof Panels

SnoBlox-Snojax offers snow guards compatible with Kingspan metal roof systems, including exposed fastener and standing seam profiles. Our pad-style and bar-style snow retention systems help prevent dangerous snow slides that can damage gutters, HVAC units, and property below. Each solution has been tested for performance and durability to meet the specific panel designs produced by Kingspan.

Use our Snow Guard Spacing Guide to determine proper placement and quantity for your project. For help selecting the correct guard for your Kingspan roof, contact our team or request a free quote.

Tip: Always install pad-style snow guards in multiple staggered rows across the entire roof to evenly distribute the snow loads. Space multiple rows of snow rails evenly as they go up the slope of the roof.

Frequently Asked Questions About Snow Guards for Kingspan

Adhesive-mounted models, such as Ecojax, SnoBlox, IceBlox and Snojax II can be used on panels such as the K-Clad Panel and KingZip Panels provided that proper cleaning and cure times are observed, with temperatures above 50°F. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for curing and temperature requirements of the adhesive. Before installing glue-down snow guards, refer to the spacing recommendations for adhesvive mounted snow guards.

Most Kingspan exposed fastener panels are compatible with our SnoBlox Deuce and IceJax I models. For standing seam profiles, SnoBar® or ColorBar systems offer non-penetrating options that attach with seam clamps instead of screws. See the chart above.

Install snow guards, in the panel flats, across the entire roof surface, starting approximately 12–24 inches above the eave. On longer runs, avoid placing a single row of snow guards or snow rails only at the gutter edge. Install multiple staggered rows of snow retention and space them evenly up the roof to ensure balanced loading. If screwing the snow guards down, please refer to our spacing recommendations for screw down snow guards.

Screw-Down Snow Guards: Use #14 exterior-grade screws with neoprene washers positioned beneath each screw head. This type of snow guard screw ensures a watertight seal and long-term durability on metal roofing applications.

Clamp-Mounted Snow Retention Systems: Select a clamp-on snow guard or snow rail equipped with stainless steel cup-tipped set screws for secure attachment. This type of set screw prevents roof panel damage while delivering safe, maintenance-free snow retention performance across standing seam metal roofing profiles.

Determining the appropriate spacing depends on the panel width, roof pitch, and the local snow load rating. For standing seam panels, it is recommended to consult our SnoBar Spacing Page.
